Vintage railroad stations built by the giants of the railroad industry of its time. Some of them serve a different function today!

Salt Lake City, Utah - Built in 1909 by the Oregon Short Line railroad. Also used by San Pedro-Los Angeles & Salt Lake railroad. Both became part of the Union Pacific shortly after the station opened. While most old large stations like this are now either still used by Amtrak, or have become museums or restaurants, this station is unique in that it is now a concert hall.

Denver, Colorado - Denver Union Station was completed in 1914. The original railroads that served the station were Denver & Rio Grande, Chicago Rock Island & Pacific, Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe, Chicago Burlington & Quincy, Colorado & Southern, and Union Pacific. Now used by Amtrak, the Colorado Ski Train, and local light rail transit.

Joliet, Illinois - Union Station built in 1912 to serve the Rock Island Line and the Alton Railroad. Now used by Amtrak and METRA.

Salt Lake City, Utah - Built in 1910 by Denver Rio Grande & Western railroad and also used as the eastern terminus for Western Pacific railroad. It was used by Amtrak at one time, but now houses offices of the Utah State Historical Society, and a restaurant.
