The first Lamborghini car was produced in 1964, the Lamborghini 350 GT model, which combined a chassis designed by Dallara with a V12 engine designed by Bizzarrini. The car was quite successful and was produced until 1968, after it was renovated in 1966.
In 1966 it launched the legendary Lamborghini Miura, designed by Bertone and Luigi also equipped with a powerful V12 engine. Also this model has been a tremendous sales success, being produced until 1973.
However, in 1968 had been presented the Lamborghini Islero, to replace the 400 GT, which had emerged as the development of the 350GT. Also in 1968 appeared the Lamborghini Espada, the first car brand with a capacity of four people. Two years later was replaced by Islero Lamborghini Jarama.

In 1972 the Lamborghini Urraco allowed the Italian brand into the super-segment of small cars.
Later that year, Lamborghini sold 51 percent of its shares to a Swiss businessman, with the remaining 49 percent is to be delivered to another Swiss in 1974.
In between, in 1973 the Miura was replaced by another model that also made history in the world of sports car characteristics, the Lamborghini Countach. This car had a very angular, aerodynamic design and was equipped with a powerful rear engine of 4000 cc and 12 cylinders in V The car was produced with these characteristics until 1988, when the engine started to have an engine capacity of 5000cc.
However, the company was in financial difficulties for a long and in 1981 was sold to brothers Mimram, which revitalized the brand.
Accordingly, in the year 1981 came the Lamborghini Jalpa, which was based on Urraco, and in 1982 the Lamborghini LM002, new to the brand, since it was a vehicle ALLROAD. This jeep was equipped with an engine Countach.
In 1987, the U.S. brand Chrysler bought Lamborghini and, in addition to replacement of the Countach, began to prepare an engine to power F1 cars. The debut of this car race was in 1989, but never succeeded.
Since the replacement of the Countach, the Diablo was presented in 1990 with great success, remaining in production beyond the year 2000.

Lamborghini Indomable Sports Cars Concept

Lamborghini Indomable Concept was developed by Daniel Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez de Chinchilla Scuola Politecnica di Design Master Albilares collaboration with Lamborghini, under the control of Filipo Périne, head of the Centro Stile and designer Alessandro SALVAGNINI.

Unlike other concepts, this one has the validity and go ahead from it's parent company that the design language thesis is borrowed from. The entire project was conducted under the supervision of the head of the Centro Stile, Filipo Perini and designer Alessandro Salvagnin.

The Lamborghini Indomable is a study of a production sportscar based on the Gallardo and with a design inspired by modern jetfighters, this has got to be one of the most contemporary designs to come out of Sant’Agata Bolognese in years, so let’s just hope they build it. The Lamborghini Indomable Concept was inspired by the exterior is a new generation of stealth fighter jets like the F22 Raptor. It is of course not the first car drove the design was inspired by Jet.

The front end is a futuristic take on the Lamborghini brand design, with the radiators located in the middle and the two angular intakes are designed to feed cool air to the brakes. The engine cover is inspired by the functional system of the F22 which features invisible weapons bay doors and the typical zig zag assembly pattern. The “Y” shape at the center leaves the V10 engine visible through a glass surface.

The designer of the Lamborghini Indomable Sports Cars Concept, Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa, has been working in transport design for the last 4 years, developing urban buses, OEM accessories and special editions for VW, GM, Ford, Peugeot and Seat in Mexico. Today, he fulfills the role of freelance Transport and Product designer.

When he speaks about his work, the designer of the Lamborghini Indomable Concept, Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa said: “Soft transitions between the surfaces with hard cuts are the main design cues. These create the functional elements of the car. Side view shows a composite wing of abstraction, giving the impression that the car waiting to act as a jet since the start of the carrier.”

Just Say No: Lamborghini Gallardo “Galaxy Warrior”

Even if you somehow blocked these images from your screen, the name “Galaxy Warrior” alone is a sign that something ain’t gonna be right with this tune. Found for sale on the German edition of eBay, the “Galaxy Warrior” is a styling package for the Lamborghini Gallardo coupe from a company called ATS Automotive.

Would You or Wouldn’t You: Fiero-Based Lamborghini Diablo Replica with BMW V12 Power

If a Fiero-based Ferrari replica is a “Fierrari”, then I figure its Lamborghini equivalent must be a “Lambieroghini”. Here’s one such monstrosity for sale on eBay, though on closer inspection there’s a lot to like about it.

For one, though it’s incomplete, much of the grunt work has already been done. The unpainted fibreglass body that replicates the Diablo VT 6.0's styling has been mated to the tubular steel frame and the gas door struts, power window motors and headlights have all been installed.
Also, the brake rotors are from a Corvette and the wheels are genuine 2004 Lamborghini Murciélago 18-inch stock clad in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

Video: Witness the Birth of a Lamborghini Aventador

We’ve already shown you our fair share of Aventador videos including films of Lamborghini’s top dog being assembled in a museum, tearing up the Vallelunga race track and even a virtual promo clip. But truth is, we never get tired of checking out Lamborghini’s newest supercar, if not in the flesh, then at least on video. And we imagine neither do you.
The newest film to come out from Sant’ Agata shows the entire process of the Aventador’s conception - from a sketch on paper through CAD models and the stitching of leather by hand, to the assembly of the fabulous V12 and the honing of the carbonfibre parts… But let’s not say anymore – just follow the jump and watch it for yourself.

Plastic is Fantastic: 1:24 Scale Supercar Exotics Encased In Resin

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a 1970's style resin “sculpture” made by an unknown French artist and featuring various 1:24 scale Ferraris.
There’s also a Lamborghini Diablo, Jaguar XJ220 and Bugatti EB110 in there among others. Props to anyone who can help us identify the rest. The unusual item is being sold by Mantiques Modern [sic] of New York.
For details on price, you’ll have to contact the dealer, but something tells us it won’t be cheap… More photos of the artsy piece in the gallery after the break.

Go-Fast Porsche Cayman Driver Smacks Ferrari 360 at Supercar Gathering in Malaysia

A couple of mishaps involving private supercars marked this past weekend’s 2011 SuperGT race at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

The first incident occurred on the tarmac during a parade of sports and super cars when an overly enthusiastic but sloppy driver of a winged Porsche Cayman rear-ended a Ferrari 360 as it slowed down in front of the crowd. The red Ferrari then bumped into a silver Ferrari California that was in front of it. You’ll have to jump 52 seconds into the first video to see the very expensive fender benders.
The second mishap took place outside the track as the supercars were leaving. It involved a kitted-out Lamborghini Murcielago and a BMW M5. An eyewitness told Jalopnik that he saw the Murcielago and an BMW M5 chasing each other before the crash. You can see what happened to the Lambo in the video after the break.

This time, the car is supposed to resemble a Gallardo Spyder in a Superleggera outfit. The Lambo replica is finished in the usual for this type of conversions canary yellow and while the builders ditched the scissor door solution, they did add power controlled doors and a hood, which automatically open at the touch of a button – you know, just in case some of your friends weren’t already impressed […].

From Poland with Love: Arrinera Supercar Revealed in the Flesh [with Video]

It has been three years since we first told you about a new supercar venture from Poland (see here). Many had expressed doubts as to whether the newly formed company, then named Veno Automotive, could pull it off and create the country’s first supercar model. Fast forward to today, and the Polish company, which is now called Arrinera Automotive, presented the first real-life prototype of its yet to be named supercar model.

While to a lesser degree than what the original sketches from 2008 implied, the prototype Arrinera features an edgy styling and certain details like the shape of the headlamps and front air vents that are all very similar to Lamborghini’s Murcielago / Reventon series.
